Abstract:The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998, passed in October 1998 extends copyright to digital objects. It also prohibits the manufacture, distribution and use of technologies that can circumvent access limitations imposed by copyright owners. It also prohibits the removal of copyright information from the digital object.
