| Abstract: | An agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Technology Administration, NIST's primary mission is to promote U.S. economic growth by working with industry to develop and apply technology, measurements, and standards. It carries out this mission through a portfolio of four major programs: Measurement and Standards Laboratories, Manufacturing Extension Partnerships, Advanced Technology Program, and the Baldrige Quality Program. NIST issues more than 480 publications each year, such as reports on research results and standards, catalogs of products and services, and technical handbooks. Information on obtaining resources is available at the site. Among the eight laboratories are Technology Services and Information Technology Laboratory which are linked from the Guide to NIST page. The Advanced Technology Program is linked from the top page. These links provide access to emerging technologies with potential application to STI management. |
