Abstract:The paper on views and key issues to be addressed in a new science policy was prepared for the House Science Committee's National Science Policy Study. The paper briefly describes five issues or areas that warrant special attention; partnership between federal government and research and educational institutions, raising scientific and technology literacy of all citizens, plan for rapid advances in science and technology, managing the international character of science and technology, and facilitating collaboration between discipline, institutions and sectors. This paper generally documents the views and priorities of the science and technology disciplines regarding federal science policy.
