Abstract:This report by the NTIA and the Economics and Statistics Administration is based on the 2001 U.S. Census Bureau's Current Population Survey. It demonstrates the rapidly growing use of new information technologies across the nation with the rate of growth of Internet use being two million new users per month. More than half of the nation already is online. The Executive Summary of this report provides a glimpse of some of the findings which include: 1) Children and teenagers use computers and the Internet more than any other age group and 2) that Internet use is increasing for people regardless of income, education, age, race, ethnicity or gender.
