| Abstract: | The author summarizes the Library of Congress's (LC) efforts to create a national strategy to collect, archive, and preserve digital content. The Library's plan has three phases: a preliminary phase that will result in a master plan to request Congress to approve the release of funds; the development of partnerships with the archival community and the content distributor/creator community; and a testing and evaluating phase that will enable LC to go back to Congress in five to seven years to discuss the most viable options for long-term preservation. |
